So, as we push forward into the post-Passover period where I attempt to get my house back in order, I plan on focusing more time on certain things in my life, like this blog (okay - maybe I missed New Years' resolution time!). I have some good topics cooking in my head, and hope to continue to address things that are on your radar screen as well. Recently, the editor of the blogs here at Adoption.com sent me a list with keywords that people had typed in to a search engine and, in doing so, had made their way to this blog. For your interest, I thought I'd share them here.... with my comments or explanations of course for those who were in search of the information to begin with.

jewish people adopting armenian kids - I don't know much about the International Adoption program from Armenia, but a good place to start is here. Jewish people adopt from all over, of course.

"Adoption " Russia stories - Check out the Russian Adoption Blog.

jewish holiday passover haircut - I think the reason this person typed this phrase has to do with the tradition of not cutting one's hair during the omer, which begins on the second night of Passover. You can learn more about the omer here.

funny jews words - Hmmm. Well I think most anything in Yiddish is funny. When I was a kid, I asked my mother to teach me Yiddish, to which she answered "Gaay shlog de kup en vant!" When she told me it meant "Go knock your head against the wall" I asked her to teach me something useful. Unfortunately, she told me, that was all she could remember from her childhood.

jews adopting chinese babies - There are tons of Jews who have adopted from China. Check out one of my recent posts here.

jewish adoption online - Hmmm.. Well, I guess this blog is a good fit!

what makes someone jewish - Sticky question. It depends on your denomination of Judaism. But across the board, if your mother is Jewish, then you are Jewish (patrilineal descent accepted in some sects of Judaism) and conversion is also accepted.

is jelly kosher for passover - Jelly marked Kosher for Passover is Kosher for Passover. Guess I got to this one a little late.

reggae blogs - Check out Matisyahu - a mainstream, Jewish, Reggae artist with hits on the top 10 lists. He even has a myspace.com page with 187994 friends. I'm not one of them, since I don't know how to work Myspace, but I will admit to having bought one of his records out of curiosity.

moses basket adopt - See my blog post on the topic here.

"back in diapers" OR "back to diapers" - Ugh. Don't want to go there. We are still in pull ups at night with Anna.

pronounce seder - sey-der.

Jewish+Sat or+dinner - Chabad centers often have free communal Shabbat meals.

"dina beach lynch" - Umm.. No idea. And this got someone to my blog?

passover bible stories - Try Exodus Chapter 1 - go from there.

looks jewish - No one "looks Jewish." In fact, I have a category here about that.

hand made matzah - Generally refered to as "shmurah" matzah (although machine made can also be shmurah) it is the round matzot, as opposed to the square ones.

jewish adoption canada - For our Jewish friends north of the border, here's a good place to start your search.
