So it's snowing outside. In April. April! And no, I do not live in Montana. It was actually well above 70 degrees here just a few days ago and now it is snowing. Big flakes too.
I'm having a problem with this because I'm in the middle of my
spring cleaning (hello? spring?) in preparation for Passover. We clean our homes from top to bottom because over the holiday we are not supposed to have any "leavened" food in our possession, hence the well loved (or hated)
matza. And of course, the only way to ensure that you've cleaned out all the cheerio crumbs from behind the couch is to actually move the couch. And while you're at it, its a good time to clean out the "anything drawer" and go through your closets and give away clothes you'll never wear again. And wash some icky stuffed animals.
As much as many husbands hate this time of year - my father certainly included - my husband absolutely adores the fact that the entire house gets turned upside down. He's a neat freak. You know the stereotype about the wife yelling at the husband for leaving his dirty clothes on the floor? That's not him. He's the one yelling at me. He actually safety-pins his socks together before they go in the wash. Anna is so much of his child, its pretty sick sometimes. She needs to put everything in the garbage right that moment, and can't stand to be dirty. Me, well, I'll just say that I'm not known to be the neatest person in the house. (Understatement of the year, but lets move on...)
The whole Passover cleaning really good thing, in my opinion, that I have this spring cleaning forced upon me. Because otherwise I doubt that couch would ever get moved. And this morning while it was snowing, I just couldn't get into the idea that we were working on
spring cleaning - but now that I've left my computer for most of the day to chase my kid around the house in attempt to convince her to sit still long enough for me to do her hair - I think I'll get back to cleaning behind my couch now that the sun has come out to remind me that spring, indeed, is coming. Really.
