I was just reading
Rebecca's post over at the Viet Nam Adoption Blog, talking about scrapbooking for the adoptive family. Those of us who are foster families are familiar with the term "Life Book" or those who have adopted older children may be familiar with the term as well. A Life Book is essentially a scrapbook, photo album, journal or a combination that chronicles your child's journey through different homes and places, and gives him or her some sense of history and normalcy. I have worked on a Life Book for each of the children we have fostered, and I saved Anna's book from her foster family as it came to us. I have, however, started a new scrapbook for her which begins when she came to us, almost three years ago. Unfortunately - or fortunately - life has pretty much gotten in the way, and so I have added very little to the actual scrapbook, though I continue to splurge on supplies when I see them on sale. And I hope that when the summer gets here and I have more time, I'll be able to squeeze in a few moments to catch up on her scrapbook.
There are a bunch of resources on the internet that I wanted to share - please let me know of any others you found helpful that I left off the list!
