Hello again! I am writing from our room in the
Dan Panorama - a really classy and expensive hotel. What happened was that we had planned out our trip for the two weeks that we are here but left out plans for Monday night - we decided to give ourselves a bit of leeway and wanted to decide later where we wanted to go or where we wanted to spend an extra day. After spending a long weekend at my cousin's near
Ashkelon, it occurred to me on Monday morning that I still hadn't figured out where we were sleeping that night. After calling around and checking out sites on the internet, I came across an amazing 'last minute' deal at this hotel.
So, hey Mom! Sometimes I am being smart when I'm procrastinating!
Let me tell you something about the Israeli breakfasts served at hotels or
kibbutz hotels. It's huge. It's amazing. Delicious and relatively healthy. There are cheeses. There is an abundance - abundance is a good word - of fruit, bread, salads and veggies. There are crackers and cereals. There is often hot food too - eggs (sometimes an omelette station) pancakes, french toast and borekas (pastry stuffed with cheese, potato, veggies or a combination).
Yum.
This morning, we are driving down the street to another hotel to pick up my grandmother, and then we are off to
Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv is to Israel as New York is to America. Except for the beaches. Tel Aviv beaches, are in my opinion, the best in the world. First of all, it's on the Mediterranean. Anyone who has travelled knows how beautiful, clear and blue the water there is. It's breathtaking. And the sand is like talcum powder. The softest, lightest sand I have ever seen. The views, also are amazing.
So when are you coming?
